The Office of Policy Analysis and Research (OPAR) focuses on science and technology policy, with a mission to stimulate dialogue between technologists and policymakers. OPAR was established in 2004 by the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) to integrate public policy considerations into GTRI's technical research, while facilitating the institute's input into the science and technology policy debate. The OPAR team is comprised of GTRI researchers and student interns. OPAR's additional responsibilities include serving as a liaison to the Georgia General Assembly and other state agencies, collaborating with policy counterparts at Georgia Institute of Technology, and executing applied policy research agenda.
